8.0 Educational Alternatives for Expelled Students
 
8.1
The superintendent or designee will provide information verbally or in writing to an expelled student’s parent/guardian concerning the educational alternatives that may be available to the student during the period of expulsion and that the parent/guardian has the right to request such services.
 
8.2
Upon request of a student or the student’s parent/guardian, the district shall provide educational services deemed appropriate by the district for any student expelled from the district. The services will be designed to enable the student to return to the school, in which the student was enrolled prior to expulsion, to successfully complete the GED, or to enroll in an alternative program.
 
8.3
Students who are expelled for conduct or behavior involving a threat of harm to district students or personnel shall be served through a home-study course or in an alternative setting designed to address such conduct or behavior at the discretion of the district.
