9-R Technology

The purpose of any technology is to improve the process, application, or tool to which it is applied. Likewise, technology implementations should improve how Durango​ ​students​ ​own​ ​their​ ​learning,​ ​act​ ​on​ ​their​ ​learning,​ ​and​ ​impact​ ​their​ ​community.​ ​Technology should improve the ways that our​ ​learners​ ​are ​actively engaged​. Personalized​ ​learning​ ​based​ ​on​ ​each​ ​student’s​ ​strengths​ ​and​ ​needs should be more effectively realized.​ The district’s ability ​to provide​ ​learning​ ​opportunities​ ​where​ ​students​ ​develop​ ​their​ ​critical​ ​thinking,​ ​collaboration,​ ​creativity,​ ​and​ ​communication​ ​skills should become more effective and easier to achieve.​

The goal of the Technology Department is to align District technologies to the Elements of Effective Instruction, provide professional development opportunities for staff, streamline hardware and software and the associated costs, secure the devices and information, and make technology what it should be: ubiquitous and invisible
