1.0 Student Conduct

1.1
This Student Conduct and Discipline Code is based upon the principle that every student is expected to follow accepted rules of conduct, obey and show respect for persons in authority.
 
1.2
This code will be distributed once to each student in elementary, middle, and high school and once to each new student entering the district. Substantial changes in this code will be distributed to each student and posted in the schools. Copies of this code shall be posted or kept on file in each school of the district.
 
1.3
It is the obligation of each student and his/her parents, guardians, or legal representatives to become familiar with this code.
 
1.4
All employees of the district shall be expected to share the responsibility for supervising the behavior of students and for seeing that they abide by the established rules of conduct.
 
1.5
Principals may develop remedial discipline plans for any student who causes a material and substantial disruption in the classroom, on school grounds, in school vehicles, or at school activities or events.
 
1.6
The Superintendent of Schools, subject to the ultimate authority of the Board of Education, shall have final authority regarding the interpretation and application of this code.
