Flyer Distribution Policy
Durango School District (DSD) collaborates with many community groups and organizations that sponsor activities of an educational or enrichment nature for students or staff. If they fit our criteria and follow our policy, these groups are allowed to distribute materials electronically through Peachjar.
- No printed flyers: DSD does not allow any printed flyers to be delivered, posted, or hand-delivered to students at our schools. Digital flyers delivered via email through Peachjar software enables community groups to easily reach parents electronically year-round and increase registrations for their programs, activities, and events. Parents appreciate Peachjar because they can easily access important information and resources from their school and community and click to take action.
- Consistent policy enforcement: DSD enforces the same policy for all community groups, businesses and agencies, regardless of their size, nonprofit status, fundraising need, or perceived benefits to the community. We reserve the right to reject any flyer that does not fit the criteria of our distribution policy and/or to refuse access to the district's Peachjar account and delivery system.
How It Works
Every free flyer submission goes through this process:
- Review these qualifications and limitations to ensure your program/event is appropriate for our Community Free Program.
- Durango School District will review your application in 3-5 business days and notify you whether or not your program event qualifies.
- If your flyer is approved by the school district, it’s all set for distribution. If denied by the school district, you will be notified and your flyer will not be distributed.
- Free flyer submission is limited to one every six months for an organization.
- Free flyer are limited to content that enriches current 9-R curriculum.
Approval of a flyer for free submission does not imply a contract, obligation, or promise to deliver said flyer on a specific date. Free flyers are not eligible for distribution outside of regular distribution schedule. For best results, it is recommended that you submit your flyer through the Peachjar portal.
If you believe you qualify for free distribution, please email [email protected]. In your email, explain the qualifiers of your program for free insertion (free program, unlimited scholarships etc.).
All electronic or print materials distributed WILL NOT:
- Promote hostility, disorder or violence
- Attack ethnic, racial or religious groups
- Discriminate, demean, harass or ridicule any person or group of persons on the basis of gender
- Be libelous
- Have a seeming adverse impact on district enrollment, finances, or programming capabilities
- Inhibit the functioning of the school and/or school district
- Override the school/school district identity
- Promote, favor or oppose the candidacy of any candidate for election, adoption of any bond/budget issues or any public question submitted at any general, county, municipal or school election
- Be obscene or pornographic as defined by prevailing community standards throughout the district
- Promote the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms or certain products that create community concerns
- Promote any religious or political organization

In order to maintain consistency in the flyer distribution process, we ask that you please follow the aforementioned guidelines. You are welcome to contact 9-R Communications with any questions regarding these policies at [email protected] or at (970) 247-5411. We thank all our partners for their continued support and for bringing various educational and learning opportunities to our students.
