Flyer Distribution Policy
Durango 9-R collaborates with many community groups and organizations that sponsor activities of an educational or enrichment nature for students or staff. If they fit our criteria and follow our policy, these groups are allowed to distribute materials electronically through Peachjar. The District does not allow any printed flyers to be delivered, posted, or hand-delivered to students at our schools. Digital flyers delivered via email through Peachjar software enables community groups to easily reach parents electronically year-round and increase registrations for their programs, activities, and events. Parents appreciate Peachjar because they can easily access important information and resources from their school and community and click to take action.
Any agency that offers an activity or service for a fee to parents, students, or staff – even with scholarships or discounts for certain groups – must pay a $25 fee per school via Peachjar (details below). The District enforces the same policy for all community groups, businesses and agencies, regardless of their size, nonprofit status, fundraising need, or perceived benefits to the community. We reserve the right to reject any flyer that does not fit the criteria of our distribution policy.
How To Submit Electronic Flyers To Peachjar
To facilitate delivery of this information, approved community organizations can send their flyers home to families digitally through Peachjar.
To request flyer approval, follow the steps below:
- Visit www.peachjar.com
- Register as a Program Provider (account type)
- Upload your flyer for approval
- BE SURE TO SELECT A FUTURE WEDNESDAY FOR DISTRIBUTION TO AVOID DENIAL, flyers are only sent on WEDNESDAYS, confirm that the date you request falls on a WEDNESDAY.
Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district office for approval. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to parents for your selected duration of time. Peachjar charges a fee for this service that is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to each school. The cost for distribution is as follows:
- $25 per flyer for one week of electronic distribution per school site (13 sites available).
- Free for all truly free events and programs that enrich current 9-R curriculum.
Flyer Content Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines when creating your promotional materials for distribution to parents:
- Information/event must be education related and/or align to Colorado Academic Standards
- Flyers submitted from schools located in La Plata County that are not part of Durango School District 9-R are not allowed. This includes charter schools, home school programs, online schools, and religious schools.
- The flyers must include the organization’s name, contact person and contact details (phone number and/or e-mail address)
- All flyers WILL AUTOMATICALLY include the following disclaimer, “These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by Durango School District 9-R”.

- Your charitable program, service or resource directly benefits children and does not require participants to qualify, has no enticement for future fee-based programs, and does not serve the purpose of fundraising, collecting donations or allow for the purchase of products or services.
- Your organization is not nationally recognized and physically resides within the boundaries of the Durango School District.
- Your organization is not receiving fees or revenue from vendors or sponsors participating in the event.
Submissions are limited to one flyer distribution every six months. If you wish to distribute to more than one school district or more frequently than every six months, you may choose to distribute a standard flyer, subject to Peachjar's service fees.
How It Works
Every free flyer submission goes through this process:
- Review these qualifications and limitations to ensure your program/event is appropriate for our Community Free Program.
- Durango School District will review your application in 3-5 business days and notify you whether or not your program event qualifies.
- If your flyer is approved by the school district, it’s all set for distribution. If denied by the school district, you will be notified and your flyer will not be distributed.
- Free flyer submission is limited to one every six months for an organization.
