Gifts and Donations
Durango 9-R welcomes donations from individuals, organizations, corporations and community groups and is grateful for our community’s support for teaching and learning. Donors should read the District Policy (KCD) on donations prior to making contribution to the district.
District Policy KCD Public Gifts/Donations to Schools
Gifts of money, equipment and materials to the district or its schools by individuals and/or organizations may be accepted by the superintendent, provided that such gifts incur no obligations to the school district or school district personnel unless such obligations have been approved by the Board. Such gifts must be relevant to the recognized purposes of the school district. All gifts to the district or its schools in excess of $100 shall be reported to the Board.
The district nor any of its schools or personnel shall not solicit any gift, payment, gratuity or donation from any individual or organization in consideration for any commitment for goods, services or benefit. Excluded from this policy are organizations such as the Durango Foundation for Educational Excellence, booster clubs and parent organizations that raise funds to assist the school district.
When you are ready to donate, it’s easy. You have two options for donating to Durango School District 9-R.

Donors may also choose to support our school booster clubs, parent teacher organizations, or the Durango Education Foundation. These organizations have their own tax-exempt status, and do not fall under the District's tax ID. To learn more by contacting your school office or visiting durangoeducationfoundation.org.
Grant applications are now only processed through an online system. The system is set up so that the applicant must complete the Grant and Gift Application Checklist form online and upload the grant narrative, budget, and budget narrative to the application.
Once the application is submitted, the grant approvers (department heads in the district) will review it for completeness and accuracy.
All grant requests must be received two weeks prior to the grant deadline. Once final district approval has been obtained, the applicant will be notified via email at which time the grant application may then be submitted to the Grantor by the applicant.
Note that all grant checks are to be made payable and sent to: Durango School District 9-R, 201 E. 12th Street, Durango, CO 81301, Attn: Accounting Manager.

To access a worksheet of the Grant and Gift Application Checklist, click below. Do not submit a hard copy of the worksheet as part of your grant application. Only the online grant application will be accepted.
