District Interim Assessments

Assessment results are used for a variety of purposes, including the following: Universal Screening: Identifying students who may be at risk for academic difficulties, as well as those who might be performing significantly above grade level. Identification allows for proactive support.

• Progress Monitoring: Tracking student learning to gauge whether students are on track to meet end-of-year learning objectives and state standards.

• Informing Instruction: Providing teachers with information about student strengths and weaknesses in key academic domains. This empowers educators to differentiate instruction, create targeted small groups, and tailor teaching strategies tAssessmentso meet individual student needs.

• Guiding Targeted Interventions: Pinpointing precise skill gaps to facilitate interventions provided under the districts Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

• Setting Goals: Helping establish realistic and ambitious learning goals for students based on their individual growth trajectory.

• Evaluating Program Effectiveness: Providing aggregated data at the classroom, school, and district levels to evaluate the effectiveness of curricula, instructional programs, and intervention strategies. This data informs decisions about professional development, resource allocation, and program adjustments.

• Fostering Communication: Providing clear and consistent data to facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, academic needs, and intervention plans.

DIBELS 8 benchmark assessments

DIBELS 8 benchmark assessments are designed to monitor the development of early literacy skills at the elementary level. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade take the DIBELS 8 assessment three times each year, normally in September, January, and May. 

i-Ready diagnostic assessments 

The i-Ready diagnostic assessments are computer-based adaptive assessments that are designed to measure academic progress in reading and math. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade take the i-Ready Reading and i-Ready Math diagnostic assessments three times each year, normally in September, January, and May. 

STAR Enterprise assessments

STAR Math Enterprise and STAR Reading Enterprise are computer-based assessments used to gauge student abilities and support instruction. STAR assessments are administered three times a year to students in grades 6 through 12, normally in September, January, and May.
