District interim assessments
DSD conducts interim assessments three times annually to provide data that helps teachers and school leaders make adjustments to instruction and identify areas where students need additional support or enrichment.

State summative assessments
Each spring, DSD students take standardized tests in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. These tests are given to students all over the state and are intended to measure how well students are meeting the learning expectations outlined in the Colorado Academic Standards.

Other assessments
Beyond the district's interim assessments and state summative tests, DSD uses additional specialized assessments for specific diagnostic, identification, and instructional planning purposes.
