The Hub

Who We Are

The Hub Therapeutic Program is an innovative educational model founded on a therapeutic approach to learning and development for students, in grades 6-12, with significant emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges. The targeted population includes youth who are impacted by adverse childhood experiences or academic barriers connected to mental health. These students are not able to access comprehensive treatment nor individualized supports through their home school due to the intensity of need, which prevents them from thriving in the traditional educational setting.

Our vision is to create a physical 'hub' for Durango School District  children and youth to access critically needed educational and community-based services, allowing for educational and health equity across all populations and needs.

The Middle School Therapeutic Team includes a lead academic teacher, a SEL lead teacher, a therapeutic aide, a social worker,  and a licensed clinical therapist.

The High School Therapeutic Team includes a special education teacher, two therapists, a caseworker, a social worker, and a therapeutic aide.  Our trained therapists focus on a person centered and strength based approach, and are able to provide services to the students in a group and individual setting. Additionally, our case worker is able to provide intensive case management services to the students and families with a focus on navigating various systems, resource connection, and teaching and implementing a life's skills program  for our youth.
