Lianne Nicholson

Lianne began her career with Durango 9-R in October 2010 as a Cook.  She enjoys getting to know her students and their families.  Lianne has also worked as a Kids Kamp substitute as well as a substitute in the Common Grounds Cafe, located at the Durango Public Library.

Lianne is proud of the fact that many of the meals served in her cafeteria consist of homemade recipes, along with local meats and produce.  She feels that the foods served are healthier than when she was a young child.  Lianne enjoys the feeling at the end of the work day of accomplishing a job well done.

Lianne loves trail running in our local mountains and throughout the Southwest.  She ran her first marathon in the Fall of 2019, and she continues to train for future marathons, including a race in New Mexico.  During the summer months, Lianne harvests vegetables in Mancos and helps to sell them at the Durango Farmer's Market. She also enjoys hiking and camping with her boyfriend and teenage daughter.

Fun fact:  Lianne plans to compete in an upcoming Moab, Utah Ultra marathon of 30 miles!
