A Round of Applause for Our November Bravo! Award Winners

Special Education Teacher Mandy Bucher at Miller Middle School
In their nomination they wrote, "Mandy Bucher is a special education teacher at Miller Middle School. She is a breath of fresh air in the chaotic world of middle school. Mandy approaches teaching in one of the most compassionate, well thought out, planned and comprehensive ways. She is always student centered, focused and works well with teachers, staff, and families to provide support in any way needed. She has a positive attitude, looks at things through a strength based lens, which she uses every day. She is an unsung hero at Miller Middle School and a calm in the storm for our students and staff. We are so fortunate to have her as part of our team. She is truly a 'Miller Angel.'"
Great job, Mandy!
Escalante Middle School Assistant Principal David Tanaka
In their nomination they wrote, "Our department would like to nominate David Tanaka for his amazing support this year. All of our drivers and our office staff have commented on the vast difference he has made in bus rider behavior. He is always available to help and communicates individually with our staff. He has personally talked with students, gotten on buses, called, emailed, and texted. He reaches out and makes not only the students but also our drivers feel heard. His dedication to making sure all students are successful on the bus and his unflagging support of our drivers is incomparable. Thank you David for everything you do to help our department, our drivers, your school and your students everyday!'"
Great job, David!
9-R bus drivers Gordon Baxter and Rick Zimmerer
In his nomination he wrote, "When I started with the district, even though I had been a bus driver for 11 years, I didn't know the ins and outs of driving for Florida Mesa Elementary. Gordon and Rick were invaluable help with the students names, stops and the procedures of driving for Durango 9-R. They were gracious and supportive and made my introduction to the district as smooth as possible."
Nice work, Gordon and Rick!
