Summer Bridge Program 2026
Help your student hit the ground running this August!
We want our students to thrive when they return to school in the fall! To support their transition to the next grade, we are thrilled to host this year’s Summer Bridge Program.
Every student entering 1st through 6th grade in fall 2026 should have received two specialized workbooks in the final weeks of the 2025-26 school year. These books are designed to keep their brains active and help families see exactly what skills are needed for success in the coming year.
Book 1: Literacy Foundations (reading & writing)
This book focuses on reading and writing skills. It is specifically designed to match what your student learned this past year, ensuring they are ready for the next level.
Earn free Durango adventures
We want to celebrate your student’s hard work throughout the summer. When students show they have completed a section of their Literacy Foundations book at one of our checkpoints, they will receive a free pass to an exciting local adventure, such as:
-
Durango Community Recreation Center
-
Lake Nighthorse
-
Powerhouse Science Center
-
Cream Bean Berry
-
The Gravity Lab
-
The Hive
How to get your passes
Visit us during our Summer Bridge Checkpoints. You can stop by the District Administration Office (281 Sawyer Drive, Suite 100) on Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., during the following weeks:
-
Checkpoint #1: Week of June 15
-
Checkpoint #2: Week of July 13
-
Checkpoint #3: Week of August 10
Book 2: Enigmath (math problem-solving)
The Enigmath book is a "choose your own adventure" math experience. It is designed to be fun and engaging while supporting essential math thinking and problem-solving skills.
While these books are not checked at the summer checkpoints, they are a huge part of our end-of-summer celebration! Completion will earn you an additional entry in the end-of-summer raffle. There is an answer key at the end of each Enigmath book to help you support your student.
