Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Impact Career Innovation Center on the Durango High School campus for an evening of exploration, creativity, and celebration.
The event begins with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m., followed by an open house from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Families, students, community members and the media are invited to climb aboard the bus, explore interactive STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics), and see firsthand how Ignite transforms a school bus into an engaging mobile classroom.
Guests can enjoy:
- Tours of the Ignite Mobile Learning Lab
- Hands-on STEAM activities inside and outside the bus
- Live music by the student-led Stillwater Music band
- Refreshments and bubbles
- Opportunities to meet the Ignite team and learn about the program
Made possible through a partnership between Durango School District (DSD) and the Durango Education Foundation (DEF), Ignite expands access to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics by bringing high-quality learning experiences directly to schools and community locations. During the school year, the bus will travel throughout the district, including rural schools, serving as an embedded instructional resource that supports classroom learning for DSD students.
Whether you're a DSD family, community partner or simply curious about this exciting new program, we invite you to celebrate this milestone with us.
