Jay Ham, a professor from CSU's Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, recently visited DSD's SOIL Outdoor Learning Lab to set up two tomato plants that are being irrigated using soil moisture–monitoring technology. The goal of the technology is to ensure plants get the exact amount of water they need, with no waste. We're excited to see how these tomato plants grow over the course of the summer, as SOIL may integrate this technology into other areas of the garden next year. Stop by SOIL near the front gate to see the setup and learn more.
The garden was also recently featured on an episode of Garden Guys.
