June 2026 bond update: Three Springs groundbreaking, Workforce Housing Program expansions

Citizen Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC)

The committee continues to meet monthly with the purpose of overseeing the process, validating that spending conforms to ballot language, and reviewing the budget.

Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC)

The committee last met in May, continuing its focus on developing a long-term school replacement plan and considering ideas for converting and repurposing the Florida Mesa Elementary School campus to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming once Three Springs Elementary School comes online. A formal report on school replacement, consolidation, and boundary analysis recommendations was provided to the Board of Education for consideration. The LRPC will present this report at a future Board meeting at the Board's request.

Three Springs Elementary School

Work on the Wilson Gulch roadway, the primary access point to the new school, continues. Work began in June and is progressing on track. In May, the district held a small groundbreaking ceremony as construction crews geared up to begin work on the school site. The district hopes to hold a broader community event to share progress in the fall once site access is easier to obtain.

Workforce Housing

The district's housing program reached approximately 80% occupancy leading into July 1. This is an exceptional achievement for a first-year program, and the district believes there is more demand coming. In response, the district is considering expanding the program and is currently in negotiations with two developers in town to prepurchase some townhomes. This would create geographic and unit-type diversity in the district's Workforce Housing portfolio, something that focus groups indicated was important.

A copy of the master schedule will be included in all future updates. It is critical to note that with a program this large, things may change along the way.
