DHS geology students to lead community game night on drought resilience

In partnership with the Hazard Education, Awareness, and Resilience Task Force (HEART Force) at CU Boulder, students have been researching local water issues and interviewing community stakeholders. Those local experts will attend the event as guests of honor, while students take the lead facilitating the interactive game experience.

Attendees can expect:

  • A family-friendly, hands-on game about drought resilience

  • Student-led facilitation and real-world problem solving

  • Displays of student research on local water issues

  • Posters highlighting community stakeholder perspectives

This project also supports students in earning the Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy—an opportunity Durango School District helped pioneer as the first in the state to award this recognition.

Dinner will be provided, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate.
