Accessibility tip: Keyboard navigation is key

Why keyboard navigation matters

If content can’t be accessed or used without a mouse, it creates a barrier for users who depend on keyboards or screen readers.

Best practices:

  • Try navigating your website, slide deck, or form using only your keyboard. Can you reach every link, button, and form field using the Tab key?

  • Make sure the order is logical and doesn’t skip over anything important.

  • Avoid using features like drag-and-drop or hover-only menus unless you provide another way to interact.
