Ann says, "Where would we be without Karla at DHS? Before DHS had liaisons for our Spanish-speaking population, we struggled mightily without this resource. Karla has opened up a world to this community and bridged an important gap in service with grace and continuity.
"Students trust her and gravitate to her kindness and expertise. School staff depend on her for her professionalism and collaboration. She is a resource we could not do without in many areas beyond communication, including behavior redirects and identifying students' families in exceptional need. And yet she goes about her day in quiet humility and eagerness to help.
