Those teachers who are interested in screening a grade-appropriate program for their students will be given a free pass for that program, which they may share with their classes any time within the time period of Feb. 26-Mar. 8.
Here are the instructions for obtaining/using the free REEL Learning Schools Program pass:
(1) If desired, look at the REEL Learning Programs described on this catalog:
Program synopses for all the grade levels include the total running times for each program. If time allows, we suggest previewing the programs (available to view 2/26) to better enable fitting films into your teaching curricula. You may choose to screen individual films or the entire program in one sitting.
(2) To sign up for the program of your choice, please send the starred information to
* Your name, school and which program(s) you choose to screen for your students
* Your own school district email address--Your pass link will be individualized using this
* The anticipated number of viewers for your screened program (# of students and # of adults)
(3) Please send the above asterisked information to Claudia no later than Feb. 23. This way, we can issue your pass before the beginning of the REEL Learning Schools Program, which is eligible to start screening on Feb. 26 at 7:00 a.m. through Mar. 8 at 3:00 p.m.
(4) Once they receive this information, they will give it to the pass issuer, and your free pass for the schools program will be created.
You will receive an email notice from Eventive that your pass has been created, after which you will go to the link provided and set up an account and log-in. If you don’t see confirmation within a few days of your request, be sure to check your school Spam folder for the Subject: Your Pass Has Been Created
Follow directions from there for screening the program. Once you have set up your account, you will be able to screen the program between the above stated dates. Please note that once you open your chosen program, you will have the remaining days within that time period to complete viewing it (for example, if interrupted by a fire drill).
(5) Please Follow Up After Screening:
Since we still plan to present a School Audience Award, what we ask in return is for you to follow up immediately via email to Claudia after you have finished screening with the name of the program you shared, the number of the audience who viewed it, the name of the film that received the most "favorite" votes, and any comments you and your students have about the films or program.
If you are interested in seeing other films in this year's in-person (Feb. 28-Mar. 3) Durango Independent Film Festival, please see the program and ticketing details on durangofilm.org. Our theater programs still need some volunteers, so please check out Volunteer opportunities on our website if you or someone you know are interested in participating and earning some free movies.
