The district's Health Insurance Committee met and discussed the best ways to use this rebate. It was decided to provide a health insurance premium "holiday" this year for all employees who are enrolled in a 9-R health insurance plan as of 12/1/2023. A health insurance premium holiday means that employees do not pay the employee portion of the premium for the month.
The premium holiday will take place in December. This benefit will be applied in proportion to the benefit the employee already receives for health insurance. In other words, employees who are eligible for full insurance will receive a 100% premium holiday and will pay no employee portion of health insurance in the month of December. Employees who are eligible for 50% health insurance coverage will receive a 50% premium holiday and will pay 50% of the employee portion of health insurance in the month of December.
