BRAVO! Winner Marianna Poling

Amanda Ellis says “Great communication is what makes schools work like well-run businesses and tight-knit communities. In the short time she has been with 9-R, Marianna has had a huge impact at Miller Middle School. She is consistent with her thoughtful and timely communications regarding our students. She is thorough and organized and has brought a high level of professionalism to her job as dean of students. Miller staff knows they can rely on her to help us keep our students safe, mentally and physically. She is full of ideas and solutions for improving our school and we all appreciate her initiative to take productive action when it comes to what is best for the Miller community. Picking one POG competency was difficult because she embodies all of them on a daily basis to bring out the best in all of us. We are very fortunate to have her as our dean.”

Linda McFarlane says “I believe Marianna embodies many of the Portrait of a Graduate traits. She is changing the culture of MMS with creative ideas for student recognition and support. Mariana is an excellent and empathetic collaborator with all staff members. She works hard to implement new plans for our Miller Angels to succeed academically, emotionally, and behaviorally. Additionally, Marianna maintains and share specific comparative data to motivate everyone in the learning culture. I believe Mrs. Poling cares deeply about the holistic well being of our students. She offers hope in many different positive channels.”

Jenny Fitts Reynolds says “Marianna works tirelessly and fearlessly every day to help, guide and protect both our staff and students. She embodies leadership and courage. She is an excellent communicator, listener, colleague and friend. Marianna's systems and communication hold our school together on a daily basis. What an amazing addition to our staff.”

Jenny DiBerardino says “Marianna is a wonderful colleague and role model. She gives her full attention to each issue that occurs with the staff as well as with the students. She makes a point to resolve issues with discretion and communicates back to staff in a timely manner the resolution and/ or consequence. Her teamwork and leadership skills are much appreciated and we could not do it without her!”
