Durango Education Foundation Presents 9-R with $250,000 for the Bridge the Gap Campaign

Superintendent Dr. Karen Cheser said 9-R is extremely grateful to have a partner like Durango Education Foundation, who has been diligent and dedicated in supporting our students.

“The DEF Bridge the Gap campaign compliments federal funding and some of the work that we are already doing to help fill in the gaps for our students, especially literacy, math and STEM,” said Dr. Cheser. “What this will allow us to do is expand our programming even beyond the school day to after school and in the summer to really engage students in powerful instruction and activities that might not be your typical things you do in school. These are going to be enriching programs that have to do with science and social studies and creativity – all of which will support our Portrait of a Graduate competencies.”
