Should we need to execute a delayed start, the following will occur:
- Staff who need to report to work for snow removal services will be notified by the supervisors of the facilities and custodial departments.
- The Director of Transportation will reach out to the bus drivers to let them know what time they need to report in order to begin preparing buses for transportation.
- Grab and go breakfast will be provided to the extent possible with a delayed start. The lunch menu may be altered to a simplified meal to accommodate for a delayed start.
- All other staff will be notified that we are on a delayed start and the specific amount of time that the start of school will be delayed. Staff will adjust their normal report time accordingly. If a staff member normally reports at 7:00 am and we are on a two (2) hour delay, the staff member will report no later than 9:00 am.
- Staff are encouraged to account for additional drive time recognizing winter driving conditions.
- Staff who are not involved with snow removal, who wish to report at their normal report time, are permitted to do so; staff will not receive additional pay for reporting at their normal report time.
- Staff will not lose compensation for the amount of time that is designated for the delayed start; they will be compensated for this time.
- Staff who utilize a time clock are to clock in when they arrive at work and note down “delayed start for weather” on their timesheet.
- Families will be notified of the delayed start and the specific amount of time that the start of school will be delayed. Families who utilize transportation services will receive information on revised bus pickup times.
- School will end at the regularly scheduled time.
- Principals will communicate the adjusted bell schedule for the day to their staff.
