How to Become a Google Certified Educator Trainer:

To become a Certified Trainer, you'll need to complete the six steps below:

  1. Certified Trainer Course.Completing our trainer course will provide instruction on 1) Creating and Delivering Inspiring and Effective Training Plans and 2) Helping Educators Use Transformative Google Technologies ~8 hours. This course will help you bolster the training, leadership, and interpersonal relationship skills that make you an effective trainer.
  2. Trainer Skills Assessment.Pass the Trainer Skills Assessment (~1 hour). This exam tests your understanding of the Trainer Course and familiarity with Google for Education.
  3. Google Certified Educator Level 1.Take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam (2-3 hours) to assess your ability to successfully integrate Google tools into their teaching practice to enhance teaching and learning. This exam will help you build your confidence as you work with educators and Google tools.
  4. Google Certified Educator Level 2.Take the Google Certified Educator Level 2 exam (~3 hours) to learn cutting-edge strategies for integrating a wider range of Google for Education tools and technologies in the classroom.   5. Film a Trainer Video.Distinguish yourself by submitting a 3-minute video introducing who you are as a trainer (~2 hours prep time). In the first minute, wow Google by explaining why you wish to become a Trainer and what makes you unique and Googley! The final 2 minutes of the video should teach the audience how one feature of Google’s productivity suite, Chromebooks, or Chrome can be innovatively applied in a classroom or school setting. Screencasts are preferred.
  6. Apply!Submit your membership application with the above materials (~1 hour). You will also be asked to answer a series of short questions. Your responses will give us an understanding of your training experience, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and building learning materials.

Remember . . .  you can earn points:  Per Appendix L of the 20/21 DEA Master Agreement, Licensed staff can earn 5 Licensed Compensation Points per 15 hours of attending professional development training.
