BRAVO! Winner Benji Danquah

“In order to meet student’s needs, Benji quickly and graciously switched roles to work in our Significant Support Needs room at Durango High School. Benji's positive demeanor, appreciation of students unique needs, and outgoing nature have had a positive effect on the culture and well-being of all of our students and staff. Also, Benji's innate ability to lead and train other paraeducators and peer influences in the room and understand students unique and complex needs has been an integral part of the success of our students and the team in the Significant Support Needs program. Thank you for being a great and positive influence at the Durango High School, Benji!”

During the fall, Benji transitioned to a security position at Escalante Middle School, where he continues to make a positive impact. David Tanaka, Assistant Principal at EMS, says “Benji has been a terrific asset for all of us at Escalante. He approaches his work with the goal of making connections with students and staff and brightening everyone’s day. The result is that our school has become a safer and happier place for kids to learn and for our staff to work. One might make the mistake of thinking that all of this just comes naturally, but beneath that smile and welcoming voice, there is a solid layer of professionalism and dedication that we all admire and respect.  Benji is making a positive difference at EMS and makes a great Eagle!”

 Congratulations Benji!
