While we know this may be a difficult decision for many families looking forward to resuming these activities, there was a consensus between the middle schools to wait. Students will still have an opportunity to participate in these activities in the spring, and the principals and middle school athletic directors felt that this was the safest decision for schools and athletes. This time will also provide ample opportunity to ensure proper training and conditioning can occur prior to the start of the season.
The high school is currently developing guidelines to ensure safety and a great experience for all those involved, and those guidelines will support the efforts in the spring to develop strong athletic programs that have the best safety measures in place.
We thank you for your support during this difficult time and look forward to partnering with you in the spring to bring middle school sports back to the forefront. Please feel free to reach out to either Mike Jaramillo, Athletic Director at Miller Middle School, or Eva Duce, Athletic Director at Escalante Middle School, if you have questions or concerns.
