According to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), in Colorado there are 513 total public high schools (does not include public charter or similar schools).
The ranking is based on a scorecard of five (5) different criteria:
- Took at Least One AP Exam
- Pass at Least One AP Exam
- Mathematics Proficiency
- Reading Proficiency
- Graduation Rate
DHS received an overall score of 81.77 when scores from the criteria and tallied and averaged. In order to quality, students must have had the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams, and the AP participation rate at DHS is 52%.
