Facilities

The Facilities Department at Durango School District 9-R is committed to operate, maintain, and promote quality facilities, grounds, and services to efficiently and effectively support a healthy academic environment. Our Department is responsible for the repairs and overall upkeep of the eleven schools in our district. We employ our own staff of maintenance engineers who specialize in all facets of building and facilities maintenance.

All schools are unique, and therefore, each require a different approach when solving problems in that facility. Our staff of qualified personnel do repairs, and work on long range preventative maintenance plans to alleviate costly repairs in the future. Our grounds personnel maintain over 100 acres of fields, lawns, sidewalks and parking lots. In the winter, the facilities crew are often called out to begin plowing facilities in the early morning hours to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
