Free Little Libraries Ready for Readers

The libraries are in four trailer parks around Durango: Junction Creek Mobile Home Park, Valley West Mobile Park, Falfa Mobile Park, and Durango Regency Mobile Park. Another is at Animas Valley Elementary School.

Three more will be installed soon at: Westside Mobile Home Park, Animas View MHP Co-op, and Apache Mobile Home Park.

When the call went out for volunteers to help with the project, people across Durango stepped up to support the effort. Andrew Lloyd and students from Animas High School built three libraries and donated books. Brent Leisure, a Riverview parent, built two libraries and has been installing all of them. Margaret Patterson is building one library destined for Apache Mobile Home Park. Scott Richards built 2 libraries. Sarah Sanchez Armstrong, DHS Spanish Teacher, and Escalante Middle School Woodshop Class are working together to build another library that will be installed at Westside Trailer Park. Sarah's students are also helping with the donation of books in Spanish.

Thank you to all the supporters!

Maria's Book Store donated books for this project, along with many members of our community.
