Pandemic-EBT Benefits Are Available to Qualifying Families

If your family has already qualified for the Free and Reduced Food program during this school year, then you may also be eligible for P-EBT, and there is nothing further you need to do. If you are already eligible then you would have received notification of enrollment in the Free and Reduced meal program within this current school year. You will automatically receive P-EBT benefits beginning in late May, unless you already have an EBT card (benefits will be loaded in late May to existing EBT cards if you have one).

If you are not already in the Free or Reduced meal program you will need to complete a FRL application by June 3. Any family applying by June 3, 2021 will qualify for P-EBT benefits.  This 2020-2021 application will expire on October 1, 2021. A 2021-2022 Free and Reduced Meal Application will need to be completed for the 2021-2022 school year.

If you are receiving EBT benefits you may already be qualified through Direct Certification. Families who qualify for Free and Reduced School Meals may also receive additional benefits such as discounted school fees, discounted internet, phone services, and additional funds for your school.

Apply for Free and Reduced Meal Program

Applying for free and reduced school meals is fast, easy, and secure. Even if you think you may not qualify, we encourage you to submit the form by 5 PM this Thursday, April 22nd. Directions to apply are found here. This is the only application you need to complete. If you are not on the Free and Reduced meal program, if you qualify then you will also be automatically eligible to qualify for the P-EBT program.

  Some additional things to note:

  • There are no immigration requirements to participate in the Free & Reduced Meal program.
  • If your family is already in the Free or Reduced program this school year, then no further action is needed at this time, you will not need to re-apply in order to be eligible for P-EBT.
  • School meals will continue to be free for all students until the end of this school year.
