District Administration Office summer hours

Over the summer, schools will not be staffed. From June 2-July 25, the Durango School District Administration Office will be open Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and will be closed to the public on Fridays. While staff are still working, we implement an alternative schedule during the summertime that reduces staff presence in the office on Fridays.

Community Update will return in June

After a brief hiatus, the Community Update newsletter will resume in mid-June and will be sent regularly throughout the remainder of the summer. Keep an eye out for back-to-school information, which we'll be publishing early this year.

Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge program pairs checkpoints, events, and prizes with free activity books that help prepare kids in K-5 for the next grade level through engaging lessons in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and fitness. (Families of middle school students who are interested in summer learning resources are encouraged to use the district's Clever portal — a secure online hub where students can easily access learning apps used during the school year.)

Summer Food Service Program

From June 2-July 31, the district is once again offering free summer meals to all children this summer. Sack lunches and breakfasts for the next day will served Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on the playground on the east side of Needham Elementary School (2425 W. Third Ave.).
