The district and its task force are beginning to make considerations for summer school and the fall. The summer program will be more robust than in years past to put in some stop-gap supports for students who have really struggled with learning within the COVID-19 environment. The district also is planning for full-time in-person learning for all students, all grade levels in the fall. With these goals in place, the Return to Learn plan will continue to evolve to ensure all the current data and research from health authorities are considered and applied, while also working to return to the learning environments and opportunities that were available pre-COVID-19 as much as possible.
The Return to Learn plan is updated and available on our website under the COVID-19 Response Summary page, which is also a button on the main website at durangoschools.org. We thank all our students, staff and community at large for their continued support throughout the school year; the partnership has been critical to allow the district to be able to operate in-person learning. We are grateful for all the in-person learning that has taken place, as well as the amazing new systems and processes of engaging in school work from home we have gained, as these practices will continue to provide new ideas and opportunities now and into the future. Eight more weeks to go… we got this!
