Growing Great Brains Expo Educates the Community

Students from Duane Tucker's 6th grade language arts classes at Escalante and Erica Dey's AVID 7th graders from Miller presented their projects on the human brain to the community at Fort Lewis College Wednesday night. Their engaging presentations educated the public on topics ranging from how classroom furniture can impact learning to how the ability to change DNA can impact brain growth.

Noah Hotchkiss, a former Florida Mesa Elementary Mustang, has made the best out of a bad situation after being disabled in a major car accident 9 years ago. Leading the way for Wheelchair Basketball, Noah came to Florida Mesa Elementary this week to share his passion for the sport with his alma mater, and show just how fun the equipment is.
