“The 9-R J.I.V.E. Fair is a great opportunity for teens to learn what resources and events are available to them. This year the teens have partnered with the Durango School District 9-R to ramp up the job and internship opportunities. We are excited about the new partnership and the response has been tremendous,” commented Stella Potemkin, Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission.
"We are so grateful for the ongoing partnerships with MYAC, area businesses and the area high schools to bring together the right supports to help our students succeed in internships so that local businesses benefit from the experience as well," said Brandon Thurston, Durango High School assistant principal and Career Technical Education coordinator. "We are still looking for more businesses and non-profits to join the effort and hope to really see this program continue to grow over the coming years."
