Safe2Tell
Safe2Tell is a program that provides a confidential, anonymous way for students, teachers, parents, and community members to report concerns about safety in schools and communities. The goal of Safe2Tell is to prevent violence, self-harm, bullying, and other safety issues by enabling early intervention when someone may be at risk. Safe2Tell was established in Colorado after the Columbine High School tragedy in 1999 and has since been adopted in other states. It was created to encourage safer school environments by allowing people to anonymously report signs of trouble, with the goal of preventing crises and promoting a culture of safety and support in schools.

- Anonymous Reporting: Individuals can report their concerns without revealing their identity, reducing fear of retaliation and encouraging people to speak up about potentially dangerous situations.

- Reports can also be made via a mobile app (available on the Apple Store and Google Play) or through an online form, making it accessible and convenient.

- Rapid Response: Reports are sent directly to the appropriate authorities, including school officials or local law enforcement so they can take action as quickly as possible.
- Prevention and Early Intervention: The program focuses on preventing incidents by identifying and addressing concerns early. It is especially effective in cases of bullying, threats of violence, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation.
- Educational Outreach: Safe2Tell provides resources and educational materials to raise awareness among students, educators, and parents about the importance of reporting and supporting at-risk individuals.
- Safe2Tell is for serious reports only. It is not for pranks or hang-up calls. False reports and blatant misuse of the Safe2Tell resource will be investigated.
