Melody Moore

Melody began her career with Durango 9-R in 2005 as a Cook at Miller Middle School.  When asked what she loves most about her job, she replied, "The kids, cooking, and my schedule."  Melody is proud of the food she prepares daily for the Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary students.  Her favorite food to prepare is chili because it is fun to make and very versatile.

Melody hosts several fun events in the "Fort Lewis Cafe" throughout the school year.  Popular events include an annual "Mother's Day Brunch" and annual "Father's Day Brunch."  New this year is a "Community Shadowing Program" where members of the Community are able to spend time learning about what goes on in the Cafeteria.

Melody has Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art - Photography Emphasis and she is currently working on earning School Nutrition certificates.  She is an active member of the Durango 9-R Safety Committee.  Melody's hobbies include camping, fishing, and photography.

Fun fact:  Melody is a volunteer with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a conservation organization!
