Volunteer your time by serving

on the 9-R School Board!


     The Durango School District 9-R Board of Education is now accepting applications from persons residing in Director District D who are interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment until the 2021 regular biennial school election.


     To be eligible for the appointment, a candidate must have been a resident of the school district for the last twelve months, be a registered voter of the school district, and a current resident of Director District D.  A director district boundary map is available on the 9-R district website at http://durangoschools.org or from the 9-R Superintendent’s Office located in the Central Administration Building at 201 E. 12th Street in Durango, Colorado.


     Any person who wishes to be considered for the appointment will need to file a letter of interest with the board clerk by 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019.  The letter should include information pertinent to qualifications and reasons for applying, and should be submitted to:

The Board will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, beginning at 5:00 pm.
