Gallery Education and Docent Tours
  Art in the Schools Program

The Gallery Education/Docent tour is devoted exclusively to creating art tours and related hands-on projects in our gallery for teachers and their students. The tour includes:

  • Orientation to appropriate gallery behavior
  • Exploration of how to "look" at art
  • Gallery tour
  • An optional hands-on art project with every tour (optional)

Tours are 30 to 45 minutes, and hands-on activities are 30 to 45 minutes.

 

The Art in Schools Program enhances student awareness of selected artists, familiarity with their work, and selected art projects. Classroom visits are:

  • For any teacher in grades K-5
  • Any time during the school year
  • In your classroom
  • For one classroom period
  • With art project and all supplies
  • About any of the following artists:

Pablo Picasso • Albert Bierstadt
Alfred Stieglitz • Georgia O'Keeffe

Navajo Weaving
